We could add a menu item for it, at the top of the account's status
submenu.
I still think that this checkbox is a much simpler solution than
adding an entire other caste of accounts. Is there anything else that
those services would need such separation for?
And how would we express the social-networking-service/IM-service
divide in the UI, anyway?
- How would users tell social-networking accounts from IM accounts in
the Accounts list?
- How would users add a social-networking account vs. an IM account?
- Can a user add an account on a social-networking service, but have
the account be an IM account? (I.e., have one's Facebook account
follow global status, in opposition to the default)
- How would users tell a social-networking account from an IM account
in the Status menu?
