Voice (and Video)

Hey all. I tried to take some of the ideas presented in last week's discussion and combine them into a single, hopefully intuitive whole. I made a diagram to explain everything, and included it (as well as all of the mockups I made in the process) in the attached archive. Some notes about the diagram:

The whole system is based around dragging the video preview to various areas of the message window in the centre of the page.
The blue areas in the message window represent docking zones; dropping the preview outside of the blue areas but still within the view results in Bubble Mode.
The docking zones are not visible to the user.
The circular ends of the blue arrows represent where the user docks the video in the message view.
The main controls appear on the video preview's hover (shown in diagram); the hide preview button only appears on the outgoing preview's hover.
Docking to the side should expand the window horizontally to accommodate the preview, without altering the size of the message view (no mockup for this yet); given the limited vertical real-estate of most laptop screens, I don't think this should apply to top and bottom docking.
In case it's not too clear, dropping the preview outside of the message view spawns a separate window for the video chat (I've put a button for un/re-docking on the control bar as well).
Full and Windowed modes use full-size control bars, Docked and Bubble modes use miniatures.
The click and drag in the Bubble Mode diagram represents a resize (effects are reversible by resizing back down).
When entering a message in full mode, leaving the focus of both the message bar and the message view retracts the message view again.
