I could probably chip in a few hours a week. I don't know if that would be enough to help or not... I won't be offended if you guys aren't interested.

We'd be very happy to have you contributing, as much or as little as your time and interest allow :)

We're currently working towards fixing the final issues on Adium 1.4, as that beta process has been going on since (wow!) 5/17/09. Unfortunately, the remaining issues probably aren't the best places to get started.

If you're looking to start with bug hunting - not glamorous, but highly rewarding (in my opinion at least) when successful - the "In Progress" tickets already triaged in the Roadmap (http://trac.adium.im/roadmap) are a great place to look. Milestones 1.3.9 (which probably shouldn't exist and would be more appropriately moved to 1.4.x) and 1.4.x are probably the best repository of current issues to examine.

On the other hand, a great way to get immersed in Adium, contribute, and enjoy what you're doing in the open source community is to go with your own experience. Is there a feature - killer, major, or minor - of Adium you wish existed? Is there a behavior that you don't think is quite right, or a bug you've noticed? Start there. Obsession may follow, and that's a good thing.

There's not a ton of active movement in the Adium codebase in recent months. I'd love to see that change. There are a lot of folks on this list who can offer advice and provide feedback, so feel free to email the list liberally as needed :)

Cheers,
Evan
