[Adium-devl] Killing the X

So, adium.im expired so I grabbed it... just in case, right?

This leads me to wonder: should we join our aviary brethren on the .im ccTLD?

We've, as of lately for sure, removed the X from everything we can
see. The domain name doesn't all-that-much make sense anymore, and
certainly confuses users. I see "adium.com" a lot with reference to
us, I'm guessing these users google for "adium" when adium.com screams
"investment in Florida!" at them.

There's no technical reasons against it (SSL certificate Evan's buying
is multi-domain; we can just grab a second one), and we can forward
all *.adiumx.com/* to *.adium.im/* with a permanent redirect to
preserve our rankings, and to reduce confusion to a minimum about
older links. Server names and reverse-DNS can be updated ridiculously
easily. Email will alias over correctly, since adiumx.com would be
parked on top of adium.im. People would just have to update
themselves.

Any strong opinions out there?

Zac
