Still 1.4 doesn't work with SSL behind a proxy

Robert,
As mentioned before, this mailing list is not for bug reporting or
user support (which is what you are looking for).
That being said, I will indulge you one last time with some user
support tips...
--------------------
I am able to connect to Yahoo from several environments just fine with
the latest build (from hg trunk). As a result, I strongly believe it
is something unique to your environment/machine.
Unfortunately, some types of proxy server/firewall combinations make
it extremely difficult for applications to reach the outside world.
The fact that pidgin users also experienced this difficulty shows that
the underlying libpurple implementation (used by both clients) does
not understand your particular firewall/proxy combination.
How To Report Bugs
My recommendation, if you haven't already, is that you file a Ticket
on our bug tracking website:
http://trac.adium.im/newticket
In order for anyone to be able to track down the issue here, it would
be necessary to understand your network configuration. This would
include:
- Whether your network configuration requires a proxy for SSL
connections on port 443.
- Whether you have set up the system Proxy settings in the Network
panel of System Preferences.
- If Safari is able to connect to https websites using your current
settings
- If possible, it would be great to know the brand of proxy/firewall/
router in use in your environments where connections do not work.
