Alright, step one... you found it.

Next you'll want to make sure you have hg installed so you can pull  
down the source code.  After you have you copy of the source you might  
poke around a little bit to get an idea we have things set up.  
(Please, don't get scared, some of it might not be pretty...)

As Robby said, the roadmap is a good place to check for little bugs  
you might try to look into.  Also, it might do you good to think about  
yourself.  What do you wish Adium could do?  What would be useful for  
you?  What might you be interested in bring to the table.  In the past  
we've always found that people are the most motivated when they're  
working on something that THEY want (that will also benefit the  
community.)  The Twitter support for 1.4 is a perfect example of  
that.  It was something Zac decided that he wanted to do, so he took  
the initiative and made it work.

Hopefully those can provide some good starters for you.  Definitely  
hit us up in IRC (if you haven't already) and feel free to continue  
making use of this list for ideas and assistance.
