I have also been lurking and I second Mark's comments.
Speaking as a member of the masses: I'm really looking fwd to 1.3. I am 
having to use the latest
beta now because of Fbook Chat support. Hope 1.3 gets here soon :).

Also, I have updated my SMS plugin code with improvements and its 
currently waiting for
1.3 before being released.

Based on what I know about Adium Devs so far, whatever decision is made 
is going to be
the best possible for all parties involved.
