You get file transfer with this protocol automatically and Video Voip is on
the schedule as well, there could be synergies.

mh,. this must be discussed together, maybe an addition to libpurple is
better, yes. But here the question is as well, who is doing this and  i
thought the development of libpurple has stalled?
