I suppose the other side of this would be the permanence of one versus the
other.  For instance, if I committed from my edr1084 at gmail.com account but
then decided that I should finally move everything over to
eric.richie at gmail.com, there's nothing that ties the two together as being
from the same person, whereas if I just always committed from
eric at adiumx.com it wouldn't be an issue.

I think the problem is that both sides more or less have the
same argument and as such there probably won't be that one single solution
that suits everyone.  I'm of the opinion that we should just pick one and
stick with it whether everyone is in favor or not, because I'm not seeing
this an an issue worthy of a never-ending debate.  I would be inclined to go
with Evan's decision as project lead but... that's not for me to decide.
