Can't argue with that much, but people should be aware that technology  
evolves really fast and if you can't afford the latest new technology  
you're going to be using an old one. There's nothing wrong in using an  
old technology if it works for you.

Most apps are not made by a group of volunteers spending their free  
time on coding. When you code purely for fun you there's absolutely no  
reason for you to work harder. Adium is merely a hobby and you should  
take that into account before accusing its developers.

Personally, I'd go with option 4 and just drop Tiger in 10.4. This is  
an OSS project and there's absolutely no reason to support old OS  
versions if it takes extra resources from the developers.
