One additional point here; there are enough people running packet  
analyzers on Adium's network traffic (for debugging IM servers,  
tracking down connectivity problems, or at the recent XMPP  
interoperability meeting at OSCON) that if it were sending something  
it shouldn't be, it'd be pretty easy to spot.
