Just because someone is on my contact list doesn't always mean I  
personally added them there. Doesn't AIM add people you talk to to the  
Recent Buddies group?

I've heard the same complaint from a number of people (which is why I  
forwarded the email). Most were surprised and wondered how they could  
turn it off. I think part of that might be the way the direct connect  
feature works, in that it shows a lot of scary-looking information  
about IP addresses and such.
