[Adium-devl] Building Adium X and Libpurple

Hi Everyone for your help.

Thanks to Holger for the suggestion about the other libs in
/usr/local/lib, as this was the problem with those errors. There were
conflicts with various image libs in /usr/local/lib that were conflicting
with the libs in the Universal SDK. The following were the culprits:

libgif.4.1.0.dylib
libgif.4.dylib
libgif.dylib
libjpeg.62.0.0.dylib
libjpeg.62.dylib
libjpeg.dylib
libpng.3.1.2.7.dylib
libpng.3.dylib
libpng.dylib
libpng12.0.1.2.7.dylib
libpng12.0.dylib
libpng12.dylib
libtiff.3.6.1.dylib
libtiff.3.dylib
libtiff.dylib

I have some new errors about redefinition of some low-level swap functions
that are also referring to /usr/local/ subtree. So I am going to go back
to purging and I should be able to get rid of these errors. So the moral
of the story seems to be to not have libs and headers in /usr/local/ that
are included in the Xcode Developer package.

Regards,

Charles

It appears to be going farther in Xcode and that is how I would prefer to

My XCode is at 3.0.

Do you have the 10.4 universal SDK installed? It's an option you need to
select from the XCode installer. Look in /Developer/SDKs to see if it's
there.

My other question is how do I go about updating the libpurple in the
AdiumX distribution with the current libpurple or should I only look at
the libpurple that is included with AdiumX distribution. I am interested
in looking at issues regarding file transfer, sound, and video
transmissions and that is why I am wanting to do some work with libpurple.

See the README file in Utilities/dep-build/scripts which describes the
steps you need to take to build a custom version of Libpurple.framework
and use it within your Adium build.

Cheers,
Evan
