Jason,

Thanks for the heads up. Our aim is to create a system that can  
interface with any protocol. In order to do this, we need to implement  
audio and video chat using libraries that aren't tied to a specific  
protocol like Google Talk. We have found these libraries in Gstreamer  
and Farsight. Both the Adium and Pidgin teams are committed to using  
these libraries to create the best AV experience possible.
