How are users supposed to customize their contact list colors, then?
Or are you proposing that they be limited to only what authors
create, or become authors themselves?
Remember Brian's Lesson: Faced with the requirement that they become
an Xtra author to customize something, most people just won't. I
would expand that to add that they will also long for the days when
Adium was customizable and you didn't have to become an Xtra author
just to change some colors.
