The contact list styles are far easier to make, so I don't see that  
counting them has any bearing on anything.

I disagree. I see eliminating the current list configuration UI as  
one of the major benefits of a more author-driven format. I do think  
we could arrange for current styles to be readable using a new  
contact list though.

If someone can come up with a good way for it to work, I'll be happy  
to add it; it's very simple to do internally.
