Expect to be proactive. You'll only know how well your student is
doing if you keep a constant watch on his commits and his amount of
activity.
*DO NOT* put it off until the end of the summer—it's a lot of work to
go through his commits all at once, and you may need to give feedback
to your student (CodingStyle corrections, bugs, other errors).
Dropping an entire summer's worth of feedback on your student over
the course of a few contiguous hours is Not Nice. Do all your
feedback continuously over the course of the summer, and you and the
student and the code will all be much happier.
