[Adium-devl] Adium for iPhone

I can chime in on this one.
I talked to David about it a little bit, especially concerning the
contact list and how we might deliver a web-based version. I believe
we came to the conclusion that since the contact list isn't currently
WebKit based, we would have a rough time doing this well enough to
make it worth it.
I threw around some ideas on how this might work, especially
concerning the installation and setup of the plugin, etc. However, I
think we'd really need a small group of people dedicated to doing this
well. I really don't think any of us want to release it unless it's on
par, if not better than some of the solutions already out there. (See: http://www.beejive.com/iphone
and http://www.crunchbase.com/company/flickim )
In all honesty, I'm not sure how much time we'd have to devote to
this, and like I said, I don't feel we should do it unless we can
realistically see ourselves putting out something that really feels
like and, for lack of a better word, channels Adium really well.
However, it's really up to the collective on whether we want to devote
engineering time to it. I'm almost positive it will be much harder
than it sounds, but that doesn't preclude us from doing it. We have a
pretty good working relationship with Colloquy, and their help would
surely be invaluable if we did decide to go down this route.
Thoughts from the rest of the list are most assuredly appreciated.
