I think Bare Bones is a positive word ;) (makes me think of BBEdit on
Mac OS. Mmmm, BBEdit on Mac OS). It definitely does improve first run
experience a ton.
Definitely agree with hard limit of one additional pane -- it was the
metric in my mind as well.
Offline users is a good candidate, but the text that was presented is
far, far too wordy. How about?
"Would you like Adium to show offline users in your contact list?
You can change this later by going to the view menu."
Even that is a bit much, but I think telling them where to change the
pref later is important.
