Me either.

The #1 thing variants take care of is different color schemes (red  
vs. blue, blue vs. green, etc.). How about we start with a couple of  
color wells, or even just pop-up menus? Choose your incoming color  
and outgoing color from two lists of eight colors, which would be  
defined using CSS color names. The message style can insert these  
wherever necessary, including into url() values for background images  
(as in Stockholm).

Are there any other needs that variants cover that can't wait until  
the above change is put into a release?
