This mirrors much of what Chris said in a previous email...

I feel like the vast majority of the very valid complaints / requests  
brought up in this thread could potentially be solid additions to  
Trac.  Let's talk with the Trac development team about this list --  
in fact, could someone perhaps take the content of this email thread  
and turn it into a very polite document targeted towards the Trac  
folks?  Title along the lines of "Suggestions after a year with  
Trac".  If all or most of these things are changes they would be  
interested in seeing or which could be done via a Trac plugin without  
too much blood, sweat, and tears, I strongly suggest that putting  
efforts there would be much more (a) fruitful and (b) maintainable  
longterm than attempting either an entirely novel bug tracking / wiki  
system or maintaining our own fork.

Let's not just file tickets on the Trac Trac, though; Andrew, as you  
are interested in potentially being part of writing a whole new  
system, would you be interested in talking with Trac developemt and  
spearheading our efforts to make this a visible effort by a large  
"customer" of Trac?  I thoroughly appreciate your offer to help, and  
I really do mean it when I say that I think the same effort could be  
more effectively -- and with wider ranging benefits, for more  
projects -- directed towards improving Trac.
