[Adium-devl] Smart Crash Reports

So what's the consensus on Smart Crash Reports? Will it be possible,
Jeff, to add statistics and smarter searching to the SCR web
interface? If not, can our interface end up with a working search
mechanism?

Either way, I think we should switch to SCR -- if we're using our own
interface, we can have it post to there instead of emailing us. The
advantages are reduced binary footprint (not a lot of difference,
actually: 140 kb download, 300 kb on disk), standardized interface
with other OS X apps, and the knowledge that by collecting crash
reports we aren't reducing the prevalence of crashes which matter to
us (webkit, anybody?) in Apple's database. Disadvantage is the link
between user and crash reports -- but a user who contacts us can of
course attach a crash log or could specify their computer's name
which is included in the crash report. Alternately, we can specify
in the default text a message such as "Include your email address if
you would like us to be able to contact you about this crash report."
