It seems like this would be nothing more than us stroking our egos.  
David got a lot of feedback at wwdc that the website is simple, and I  
think it makes sense to keep it that way. I don't think adding a  
odometer or any kind of widget in the "hit counter" genre would do  
much more than add some distraction to the main page

Due to the large amount of feedback it took to get the website to an  
acceptable point last time, I definitely don't want to go through  
that again. What we have works well with everything.

Personally I associate it with Adium, and not any single version number.

I don't think we have enough resources to pull off another change and  
not delay the release. And I would prefer to leave it as an easy to  
use website.
