The Adium.real thing is really bizarre and definitely a blocker...
I've seen reports of that from multiple sources, ever since we went
to SystemVersionCheck (a couple on the forums, a couple on Trac,
several more sent to me directly via email or IM), and had it happen
twice myself.
We can have a reasonably sane error message on 10.2 simply by using
the LSMinimumSystemVersion Info.plist key, set to 10.3.9. OS X will
tell the user, "You can use the application 'Adium' with this version
of OS X". LSMinimumSystemVersion is broken in 10.3, and works again
as of 10.4.1according to reports, so the only users who will get no
help will be 10.3.0-10.3.8 users (who need to do a free upgrade to
10.3.9).
I would hope there aren't that many 10.3.x where x < 9 users left.
If SystemVersionCheck causes problems, let's dump it.
