why can not get the configuration of AdiumMessageWindow toolbar

I tried what you said. It still has the problem.

And <key>TB Size Mode</key>  is one example I used to reply your
question "What did you expect?". Actually, other <key>s also be given
the different value than I expected.. for another example is:

   NSToolbarDisplayModeDefault,
   NSToolbarDisplayModeIconAndLabel,
   NSToolbarDisplayModeIconOnly,
   NSToolbarDisplayModeLabelOnly
} NSToolbarDisplayMode;
