Not on Trac, but I found three requests for it in my Adium feedback
archives (I stopped looking in mid-2008; the feature debuted on the
service in 2005). There may also have been requests on it in comments
on our blog and on our IRC channels. It's not a deafening clamor, but
it's not *nobody*.
I do believe you're right, though, that far more people have asked
*us* for direct file transfers than have asked to be able to add
Yahoo! contacts to their MSN account.
If Adium does currently support that, then that's a different story:
As previously stated, it would be a feature regression to remove it,
and we'd have to decide whether we want to trade one feature for the
other (policy says no). However, if Adium currently does not support
it, then we can get away with the switch.
To clarify one possible case: The feature may be working in Libpurple
and working in Pidgin but somehow broken in Adium. I don't care. If
that's the case, then whether the code is there or not, to the user's
eyes, it isn't. We wouldn't be taking away something they already have
(which is to say, can use).
So, is anyone able to chat with Yahoo! contacts using their MSN
account in Adium?
