Hm. Damn.

Well, we definitely should persist at least 15 messages per contact*  
on the device, for message context display. That feature is a hundred  
times more important when you have to quit Adium to do anything else.

We don't necessarily need to create and parse chatlog files on the  
device. Since the iPhone doesn't expose its file-system anyway, we  
could simply put the messages into a database. Someday, when we add  
sync with desktop Adium, we'd have desktop Adium translate the  
transcripts to chatlog as it receives them from mobile Adium.
