I basically agree, the problem is just that getting libpurple,  
including its dependencies, to run on the iPhone is non-trivial.

Of course, when you have that, getting my solution to run is fairly  
easy, since you already have the XMPP client part covered. Even adding  
XTLS is not that hard to do.
