[Adium-devl] update python for leopard

Hi all
My python course uses the IDLE work environment which seems not to be present in my version according to http://wiki.python.org/moin/MacPython/Leopard
On this page I downloaded the new python version for mac, but I didn't understood the following things:

1. "back up your .bash_profile before you install" how should I do?
2. "delete the newly installed Python Launcher.app" where is it located?
3. "delete the newly installed Build Applet.app" I've installed Xcode, so, where is this file located?

I also wondered why they use the terminal to programm, isn't it a bit dangerous because of its power even if it depends of what we type in it?
