Hi Nicolas!
Learning Python first would be an interesting approach with some
upsides and downsides. It would definitely be a long path to work on
Adium, since you'd need to start with Python, then learn Objective-C
(and by inclusion, C). On the other hand, the simplicity and clarity
of the language lends itself well to learning programming concepts
that apply across all or most languages.
