Because it is bad enough that we make users choose whether to connect  
via HTTP or not; it would be worse to also make them choose which  
library to connect with.

That is failure.

We should choose one library and use it. We can always switch if  
another library turns out to be significantly better, either in  
functionality, in stability, or in speed.
