Actually it's already on the 'next' branch, along with handwritten
messages (thanks to Devid's porting). So it might be possible that you
can already receive files directly. It's also possible that you won't
be able to receive files at all :P (again, it's limited)

I would like Adium to support external libpurple plugins, but even if
that doesn't happen, there's always the possibility of packing it like
the skype plugin [1]. Anyone up to the task?
