[Adium-devl] MSNp15 (libpurple im.pidgin.pidgin) in Adium 1.3.x

I just wanted to chip in my $0.02 as someone who uses MSN heavily:

I've had no problems connecting with 1.3.x, or with display pictures,
and this is using 2 accounts in a variety of network situations. I
also greatly appreciate now being able to read status messages. I
can't comment on offline messaging because I never use it.

I think the benefits of using a library with a larger target audience
are moot if certain aspects of that library – in this case, msnp* –
are not the primary interest of the developers. Felipe seems pretty
keen on improving msn-pecan, and I assume a lot of that motivation
comes from having it included in the best darn tooting Mac IM client
evar. The pidgin folks, much respect to them and all their work, just
seem less interested in supporting and adding new features to their
implementation.

Project management is not a democracy, not by far, but if it were then
I would definitely be casting a vote for msn-pecan.

Sincerely,
Patrick B. Gibson
