Sorry for poor threading of my reply - on the road for the weekend.
A Social Networking Status sounds like a good idea on some level...
Though I wonder how much use it would get as part of the saved status
system. I don't see people ever repeating facebook or twitter status
messages. Therefore:
So it seems there is agreement that having some way to apply the
current status to social networks.
What if we handled these uniquely as accounts? When one or more
social accounts are enabled, they show up in their own section of
account menus. At the top of that section are items to set a status
for all social accounts and to apply current adium status. The
accounts can be individually set akin to how IM accounts are, too.
