None of these issues would stop anyone from doing a project in their  
own time and seeing if they can work with the limitations the the  
iPhone provides, though you won't be able to tell us about it until  
June/July. At the same time I would go with the notion that any GSoC  
project should be using public APIs and not any that are under NDA,  
especially since this would otherwise prevent you from blogging about  
the work you are doing.
