I'd be willing to give it a shot... I already tried simply running its  
Makefile from within the purple_make.sh in adium/Utilities/dep-build- 
scripts which builds a universal (ppc + intel) libpurple binary for  
us.  It didn't appear to be following along with the CFLAGS, LDFLAGS,  
HOST, etc. which libpurple's configure makes use of.
