Actually, this brings up an interesting complaint of mine. I'd like to  
see us *stop* storing built frameworks and instead actually make the  
build system more end-user friendly, so that in the end we would be  
able to tell our build system to build and it'd do the whole end-to- 
end process, including libpurple and its dependencies.

Note I'm not saying this needs to happen overnight - I'm envisioning  
it as a longer-term process, which will go hand-in-hand with making  
the build system cleaner and smarter.
