[Adium-devl] Version Control meeting Jan 24 2008

I love comcast! My Internet is down... No idea if it'll be back up
this evening. So comcastic. I have email on my phone in the
meantime... But probably won't make the meeting.

Some initial points:

First, I definitely think we should make a change of some sort.
Subversion's week branch/merge support makes life more difficult than
it should be. Anyother benefit of a switch is icing on the cake as
afar as I'm concerned.

Reading through our excellent comparisons page, I'm inclined towards
Bazaar as it sounds like the smoothest transition from svn, complete
with sane revision numbers. I haven't checked the trac integration -
are the linked installations running well? I like patch sending
(which several have).
Darcs: lack of symbolic link support makes committing a compiled
framework sligty more obnoxious but isn't a deal breaker - we could
use a build shell script to create the links.
Monotone: only strong advantage seems to be that our pidgin friends
use it. I see minimal benefit in following just for that.

David, please take charge of discussion if i'm not there by 9 est.

Cheers,
Evan
