[Adium-devl] Version Control - To change or not to change? THAT is the question!

	I don't have time to do a full response to this right now, but I did
want to add two more things to the 'reasons to switch' list for
consideration. My current development model is something like:

1) copy-paste my adium checkout folder
2) rename to adium-nameofproject
3) hack for a while

	When I don't do this, I inevitably end up with stale patches in my
tree next time I need to work on something small; then I svn diff >
somepatch.txt && svn revert -R ., and hope I didn't add enough files
to confuse svn when I re-apply the patch later (I've had to blow away
my checkout and redownload a number of times).

	Cheap local branches would make this a lot less painful, so I'm
definitely interested in that part. The other thing that catches my
eye is not having .svn directories. Maybe I'm just dumb here, but I've
messed up way too many working copies accidentally copying directories
from one checkout to another.
