[Adium-devl] trying to building adium and libpurple...

Hi, all. I'm trying to look into some problems in 1.2 betas, namely
a Kerberos authentication problem showing up at my site in the Jabber
code, and the Zephyr support apparently being broken. I'm trying to
follow the build directions on the wiki, but I'm running into a
couple problems.
In the libgaim repository trunk, "make" builds stuff fine, but then
tries to copy files into a directory that doesn't seem to exist in
the adium repository trunk. Apparently /trunk/Plugins/Purple Service/
Libpurple.framework was deleted back in early November.
If I change the pathnames in the libgaim top-level makefile to point
to what appears to be the new pathname in the adium trunk under
Frameworks, then after I install the library and headers, adium
doesn't compile. So I'm guessing that's not quite right. :-)
Also, the newly built libpurple appears to have the Kerberos v4
support in the Zephyr code enabled, while 1.2b7 appears not to (which
is the source of at least one of my Zephyr problems). So it seems
I'm not using the right process to duplicate the beta builds.
Building the adium trunk as it is in the repository works fine, but
as the problems I'm working on are almost certainly in libpurple, not
Adium proper, I do need to build and test new versions of that
library. What's the best way to do that right now? Are the trunk
versions the correct ones to be working on?
Ken
