We gave up on hacking the existing importer (which is just based on  
bzr2svn/tailor—i.e., all three are pretty much the same code) and  
decided to write a better-designed one that's designed to handle this  
sort of thing. We're making good progress (Colin moreso).

Even I wasn't promoting it anymore. I backed Mercurial, too. The  
DistributedVersionControl page made clear long before the meeting  
that darcs didn't satisfy a good half of our requirements.
