WRT the crashes, I don't see any specific on-point ticket, so I just opened

The error dialog I got (well after I was connected to AIM) was 
something about the buddy list not being available from the servers 
right now.  I dismissed the dialog then within a minute, Adium 
quietly quit - no crash log or console messages.  This has now 
happened twice today.

Found a link to your 1.3.1svn in another ticket - I'm switching to it 
with the debug logging turned on.
