To me it depends on the target audience, the goals of the project, the
development team, and the general direction of the OS. Personally I think
it's kinda silly for a project of all volunteers to be forced to develop for
something that none of them use, and I think that end users can deal with
the fact that any OS would be dropped. I don't think it helps the Adium
project at all, other than to gain more users, to keep 10.4 support. I
actually think it harms the project in maintainability and in ease of
approaching the project as a new developer.

My 2 cents, for what it's worth.
