[Adium-devl] Push/Pop (was Re: New wikipage needs input from everyone)

That is totally awesome... I had no idea. A very simple way of advertising
this feature in the message window UI without making it too intrusive would
be an extension to how it works now:
Currently when you type something in the text entry then do CTRL-Down, a
little down arrow appears on the right side of the text entry field.
Clicking on that x times pops the stack x times (rather than typing CTRL-Up
which accomplishes the same thing). Simply place an up arrow there that
matches it whenever text is entered in the text entry field. The up arrow
would serve the purpose of visually providing a button to 'push' the stack.
There seems to be one case [this is when you have pushed at least one item
on to the stack and you start typing... at this point you can push the
current text on to the stack or pop the stack] when both arrows should be
visible side-by-side, in which case do an oval (more of a square with curved
corners) with both arrows in it and a faint separator to show that they are
different buttons.

I also think (as was mentioned above) this should be renamed, however I
honestly can't think of anything that sounds clearer in terms that a non-cs
student would understand without making the name too long... maybe keeping
the name but providing a nice description would work!

Also, this is much simpler and more effective than using Cmd-x and Cmd-v.
Nobody in their right mind would actually cut and paste the text into an
editor - takes too much time, however you could just use the clipboard
buffer (like was suggested above). This is worse than push/pop in 2 ways:

1) More steps, need to select AND cut
2) Clipboard could be written over easily by any other application on the
system (this is the killer for me - had I have known about push/pop it would
have saved me from this problem countless times).
