A big congratulations to Erik Beerepoot, Andre Cohen, Matt Handley,
Andy Monitzer, and Erich Kreutzer, all of whom had successful GSoC
2007 projects which are now a part of the Adium trunk for Adium 1.2.
Andy's work in libpurple has also been accepted to the libpurple trunk
in im.pidgin.pidgin, for inclusion in libpurple 2.2.0 / Pidgin 2.2.0.
Y'all did a great job; I hope it's been a good experience. :) I've
read the evaluations sent to Google... if you have any direct feedback
you'd like to offer, please feel free to ping me on IM or send an
email offlist.
Last night and this morning I finished up the merge process, using the
subversion 1.5 and the process Augie determined previously. I moved
the summer_of_code_2007 branches to tags, since they are now static
landmarks rather than live branches. I resolved the conflicts and new
warnings, but I also added #warning lines where there was clear
breakage or incompleteness.
There's work to be done in each department before 1.2 is ready;
merging indicates that this code should be able to move to release
quality, not that it already is. Everyone running trunk, please start
filing tickets related to the new group chat improvements, detachable
contact list groups, applescript support, new Jabber features, and
Bonjour, and assign them appropriately.
Erik, Andre, Matt, Andy, and Erich: Please start a new thread on this
list for your project, briefly describing where it stands, what still
needs to be done (if anything) for it to be ready for Adium 1.2, and
what your plans are. Of course there's always room for more
development and future enhancement, so addressing both immediate
problems (show stopper bugs, visual glitches, and necessary parts to
achieve your primary goal) and forward-looking development would be
great.
Cheers,
Evan
