Agreed, idle/unidle doesn't need the message.

Note that this is the problem I discussed in the ticket... which  
seemed to no longer be the case. It apparently is.  The status message  
may not update as quickly as the away/not-away status does; I assume  
you're seeing this in AIM?

That may be a deal breaker for the patch.

That'd be a Growl bug, probably... perhaps display style dependent.  
What style do you use for your Adium notifications?
