Agree 100%, branching trunk to work on the search field should be
done only *after* gsoc work has been merged in. If the branch is made
prior to that and then trunk changes behind its back, it's gonna be
same problem when the branch is ready to be merged back into trunk,
as it'll have new stuff of its own but it wont have stuff that's also
new in trunk.
About the other stuff I wrote, I was proposing a pre-gsoc2007-merge
tag is created off trunk just prior to the merges, in order to make
it easier to roll back to something stable should any disaster occur.
