Pardon me, I'm not a Dev, but I am curious as to what direction you
would even imply - it isn't very clear what you are. After a quick
google, http://www.genetree.com/, it seems your motto is "Our goal is to
be able to take any two people in the wrold, sit them down and tell them
exactly how they're related."
In which case, it sounds like you would like to develop your own Adium
plugin or a libpurple plugin (which would allow GAIM access) because -
and I'm guessing compeltely here - my guess is that you want to
catalogue people on someone's buddylist and spontaneously add people
based on genetic similarities.
I would probably start by doing an adium plugin, starting by these
instructions in the wiki-
http://trac.adiumx.com/wiki/TobysGuideToPluginAuthoring - with the goal
of interfacing the Contact Controller with your servers to do a lookup
on a person and then subsequently creating a new tree in the contact
list that shows a relation?
Anyway, I'm curious as to what direction a company would like to do with
this kind of stuff. Could be very interesting.
