One major problem for me is on how to handle PEP in the XEP-0174  
context. I started a discussion about that on the xmpp standards  
mailing list a while ago, but it went nowhere. Without PEP, in the  
future there might not remain many of the non-abandoned XEPs to be  
used via link-local messaging...
