Also please give the option of specifying where to copy to. 
/Applications is nice, but I know a number of sites that don't permit 
3rd party apps there.

Does this proclude manual drag/copying?


FWIW, the steps I see with my clients are:
1. Download the dmg.
2. Scan it with ClamAV, etc [*].
3. Mount the dmg.
4. Rescan it.
5. Copy the app.
6. Suddenly remember to backup ~/Libary/Application Support/Adium 
2.0/, usually by just zipping it in place.
7. Launch app.
8. Dismount the dmg.
9. Throw the dmg into a "software library" folder.

And if it's the admin doing it to a shared system, he'll have NO 
interest in launching the app.


[*] heh.  I know.  But they're "gov't-contract" shops where ALL data 
must be scanned, period.
